In the field of Hi-End music, Pure Class-A amplification is generally accepted as the most perfect way of music expression, but like all the other pursuits of perfectness, the cost of pursuing pure class-A amplification is also very high.
The pure class-A amplifiers can generate warmer and sweeter tone and better bass quality than the class-AB amplifiers. If you need balanced and strong power, class-AB amplifiers; but if you want to have the purest sound from the loudspeaker, pure class-A amplifiers will be the real solution.
Pure-balanced class-A amplifier operates at large bias current, which can produce a stereoscopic sound field easily. Such combination would create an excellent rendering deep into every detail and extremely real dynamics, as clear as a layer of mask being removed, yet without any harsh signs.

So high-power pure class-A amplifier can only be seen in best-of-class high-price Hi-End equipments (e.g. Pass XA200 Pure Class-A Amplifier sold at the price of about 1,750,000 NTD). However, the low-power pure class-A amplifier emerges in the market in the form of small vacuum tube and wins the heart of many audiophiles.
